Putting together a science fair project can be a big project if it is your first time.  Here is a quick outline as to what you may want to include:

Steps:

  1. PICK YOUR PROJECT:  Do you have an idea?  Do you have an interest?  Talk to teachers, parents, friends.  Pick something you can investigate and test.

  1. QUESTION: In the form of a question, what you want to investigate in your experiment.

  2. HYPOTHESIS: An if/then statement.  An educated guess as to what you intend to prove or disprove with your experiment.

  3. RESEARCH: Background information on what you will be investigating in your experiment with included references.

  4. PROCEDURE: List all the steps you did in the experiment (recipe).

  5. MATERIALS:  List all the materials you used in the experiment.

  6. DATA: Information discovered during the experiment.  Organize using charts, graphs, drawings, diagrams, and/or pictures.

  7. PICTURES OR DRAWINGS: Used to enhance your procedure or materials used in the experiment.

  8. RESULTS: A summary of what you learned from the experiment based upon your evaluation and interpretation of the data.

  9. CONCLUSION: State your agreement or disagreement with your hypothesis and explain why based upon your results.

  10. GOOD FEELING: That you learned a little science by doing your own investigation
